The half bat brick was found in an entry at the back of Eldon Street, St Helens. The front of the brick had the initials of JCE whilst the back has 3 1/8. Could not see where this brick had previously been as part of a building, most of the old houses on Eldon Street (lower half) near Pemberton Street have been demolished.
The company of J. C. Edwards (JCE) Ltd, was based in Ruabon, Denbighshire, Wales from 1903 up until 1956.
