Very heavy down pour today and no walking in the early morning. The afternoon was a bit better for venturing out. Walking in the footpaths on the way home through the former Alexandra Colliery. The rain appears to have cleared some of the hidden bricks and I spotted a Collins Green half bat brick.
Collins Green Colliery and brickworks was located near Bold St Helens. Buildings on the former site of Alexandra Colliery that have long been demolished. The half bat was found close to what would have been the railway link through to Ravenhead and linking with the Watson Street branch line connecting with the main St Helens railway lines.
